My New Sofa

Back in February I shared some of my favorite sofas for every budget after selling my living room sectional.  After considering all the options in my price range I decided to go with the Rockford Sofa from Home Decorators Collection.  I decided on this sofa for three reasons:

1. Price.  It retails for $999 and I waited until it was marked down to $799.  I also picked it up in the store, saving another $100 on delivery… although based on the picture below I probably should have done a more precise measurement before I committed to that. I sold my old sectional for about $500 so I was able to make the upgrade for just over $300 total.

2. Neutral color and fabric. I custom ordered the sofa in a natural linen fabric that is easy to clean.

3. Details.  I loved the nailheads on this piece.  It gives it a little bling without going overboard and adds the bit of formalness I was looking for.

Here is a reminder of what the room looked like with old the sectional.

Here it is with the new sofa with some fun accessorizing.

So far I have been thrilled with the purchase. For the price, the sofa is great quality and it is much better-suited for the room. I am finishing up some other updates to the room and will be sharing the new living room tour soon!

  1. Your room looks GREAT! Is your sofa upholstered in the “beige linen” fabric? My sample has not come in yet but I’d like to act on the weekend sale and it looks terrific in your room. The sales rep indicated it was a 45% rayon, 55% linen blend. Are you pleased with its durability? Will be in a high traffic room with a small dog.

    • Thank you! Yes, I ordered the sofa in the beige linen fabric and am very happy with it. It looks great. I have it in more of a formal sitting room so it isn’t super high traffic, but still I have two small children and it has held up great.
