My New Sofa

Back in February I shared some of my favorite sofas for every budget after selling my living room sectional.  After considering all the options in my price range I decided to go with the Rockford Sofa from Home Decorators Collection.  I decided on this sofa for three reasons:

1. Price.  It retails for $999 and I waited until it was marked down to $799.  I also picked it up in the store, saving another $100 on delivery… although based on the picture below I probably should have done a more precise measurement before I committed to that. I sold my old sectional for about $500 so I was able to make the upgrade for just over $300 total.

2. Neutral color and fabric. I custom ordered the sofa in a natural linen fabric that is easy to clean.

3. Details.  I loved the nailheads on this piece.  It gives it a little bling without going overboard and adds the bit of formalness I was looking for.

Here is a reminder of what the room looked like with old the sectional.

So far I have been thrilled with the purchase. For the price, the sofa is great quality and it is much better-suited for the room. I am finishing up some other updates to the room and will be sharing the new living room tour soon!

Life and well… general busyness

So I am back after taking a somewhat unplanned break from blogging the past few months. Life got busy, babies got bigger and well, time just slipped away.  My job is a full time mom which means I find my time to write on the occasional chance both babies take a nap at the same time or are both in bed by 9:00pm.  And well, that just doesn’t happen very often.  But with lots of exciting things happening around our house and with family  I am hoping to get you all updated on some recent projects.

Since February I helped my in-laws find a house in Kansas City, took a vacation down to Naples where my parents are considering purchasing some real estate and  am starting to seriously consider a house flipping project in Kansas City. So the outlook for potential projects is incredibly exciting, and now I’m just trying to figure out how to find more hours in my day! So stay tuned because I have lots of content coming soon, and will be attending design camp in Minneapolis at the end of the month which I’m super excited about. Until then, I’ll leave you with a couple pics of my co-workers… I love my job!!!

Happy Snow Day!!

We are enjoying yet another snow day with our second blizzard in just a few days here in Kansas City.  This is what our house looked like this morning when we woke up.  I don’t care much for snow but I have to admit it was beautiful.

Noah missed the memo that you aren’t supposed to drive in this snow!

Being stuck in the house gave me a chance to finish Arie’s Birth Announcement to add to our gallery wall in the family roomI went with coral colors to match the red in the room and some coral accents I’m working to find for our living room.

A couple folks have inquired about purchasing my artwork like the piece above.  Now that I have some more time on my hands I am going to be doing some work so stay tuned for more details.

Happy shoveling!
